Who am I?
Hey! First of all, I just want to say thank you so much for checking out my page. It really means a lot to me. My name is Ashley, and I am a pre-med student in college- which is most definitely as bad as they say it is. I have had a love for reading and writing since I came out of the womb (or that is what my mom tells me). And while it is not what I am doing career-wise, I would love to share some of my poetry and short-stories with you guys. In many ways, I am hoping that if people enjoy my writing I could find a bit of success in it and see what I could do with it long-term. Your feedback is vital to me. On another hand, I am a severe coffee addict and will hopefully entice you with the incredible places I have the opportunity to go to. I have transferred colleges, grown up in Memphis, and have been extremely fortunate to have been able to travel around. All of these experiences make life special to me (but coffee makes it all even better), and I hope that by sharing it with you, you will want to go out and experience new places too.
I will definitely be aiming to blog once a week or so. I really enjoy doing freestyle poetry, and it totally has no rhyme or reason beyond the inspiration that I gain just in my everyday life. I also love science- hence my major- so most definitely expect a lot of science references.
Finally, I am open to any suggestions that you may have. If you have a topic that you would like for me to touch on, please feel free to let me know. I want to make everyone happy. This will hopefully not just become a personal journal- so please stop me haha!
And as for my pen name-ish, since I already told you my name, I feel like I must explain. Beyond the fact that I am a chemistry nerd, I have a collection of writing which I named Polonium on my laptop so that people would be less likely to click on it when browsing my documents haha... A lot of my writing was about struggling to get back on my feet. In chemistry class, the week that I named the file, I learned that Polonium is an extra special element in the way that it is the only metal that is inefficient enough to have to form a simple cubic lattice structure. So in English, it is the only metal on the entire periodic table that cannot form a fancy solid like all of the other metals. That makes it kind of special to me simply because I think that we all feel a little inefficient sometimes. I hope that what I write can be as special to you.
